Zindagi Na Milegi (Life Will Not Come Again) is the philosophical centrepiece of Sikandar (T-Series, 2025), sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal — the two dominant voices of 21st-century Hindi film music — composed by Pritam and written by Irshad Kamil. At 5:18, the album's longest track, it takes the film's grief premise (the protagonist losing his wife) and elevates it to a philosophical reflection on mortality and purpose. The phrase 'zindagi na milegi dobara' ('life will not come twice') is, coincidentally, the name of one of Hindi cinema's most beloved films (Zooha Akhtar, 2011) — Irshad Kamil likely engages this resonance deliberately, though this is a new composition.

Pritam's composition for Zindagi Na Milegi is his most complex arrangement on the Sikandar album — a string quartet introduction, Arijit Singh's voice in its deepest philosophical register, Shreya Ghoshal's pure soprano providing the transcendent counterpoint, and an orchestral development section before the final reunification of both voices. The 5:18 runtime is exceptional — Pritam trusts the listener to follow the full emotional journey.

Irshad Kamil's philosophical register is at its most profound in Zindagi Na Milegi — a meditation on impermanence that draws on both the Urdu ghazal tradition (where mortality and love are inseparable) and the Persian concept of fana (annihilation of self in the beloved/divine). For a masala action film, the philosophical ambition of this lyric is remarkable.

Released 20 March 2025, ten days before the Eid theatrical opening. The pairing of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal — who had not duetted in a major Bollywood release since 2019 — generated significant media attention. Some critics noted the phrase's resonance with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011).
