Sikandar (2025) is a Hindi action drama directed by A.R. Murugadoss (Ghajini, 2008; Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty, 2014) and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala (Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment). It stars Salman Khan in the title role — a man called Sikandar (Alexander) who loses his wife and is transformed by grief into a force of protection and justice. The film released Eid 2025 (30 March), marking Salman Khan's traditional festive slot. With a reported budget of approximately ₹200 crore and a 3,000+ screen opening, it was among the year's most anticipated Hindi films. The soundtrack (T-Series) was composed by Pritam — Salman Khan's most frequent contemporary musical collaborator — with lyrics by Irshad Kamil (four tracks) and Kumaar (two tracks). The album is unusual for a masala action film: two major grief ballads (Tere Bina and Hum Aapke Bina, both Arijit Singh), a philosophical duet (Zindagi Na Milegi, Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal), a romantic duet (Mera Yaar, Jubin Nautiyal and Payal Dev), and two action anthems (Sikandar Title Track, Zor Laga Ke).

The Monographमहत्व Significance

Sikandar is Salman Khan's traditional Eid release — a cultural institution that has defined Hindi cinema's festival economics for over two decades. Pritam's score stands apart from the typical masala action film: two landmark grief ballads ('Tere Bina' and 'Hum Aapke Bina') featuring Arijit Singh, a philosophical duet with Shreya Ghoshal ('Zindagi Na Milegi'), and Irshad Kamil's lyrics across four tracks collectively elevate the album's register well above its genre. A.R. Murugadoss's tight narrative construction brought discipline to Salman Khan's star persona at a scale of approximately ₹200 crore.
Legacy

Sikandar's Eid 2025 opening delivered strong theatrical footfalls before the film moved to Amazon Prime Video. Pritam's score was widely acclaimed, with 'Tere Bina' and 'Hum Aapke Bina' becoming two of the year's most-played grief ballads. The film reinforced the Salman Khan-Eid cultural equation and A.R. Murugadoss's reputation as a director who can manage commercial scale without sacrificing narrative coherence. Final box office figures and the soundtrack's streaming longevity remain the ongoing measure of its legacy.
