The Monographपरिचय Overview

Friendship is the upbeat, camaraderie-themed track from Aseq (2023), the JioCinema-exclusive supernatural horror thriller starring Vardhan Puri, Sonnalli Seygall, and Siddhanth Kapoor. Written and sung by Himanshu Kohli and composed by Yug Bhusal, the song was released on the Junglee Music label around the film's 23 June 2023 premiere as one of three original soundtrack cuts. Where Aseq's plot centers on a malevolent jinn haunting protagonist Ronnie, Friendship provides tonal relief, spotlighting the bond between Ronnie and his two best friends Sarim and Aadi (played by Siddhanth Kapoor and Adi Chugh) who join him in confronting the supernatural threat. Of the film's three songs, Friendship has drawn the most YouTube traction, reflecting its more accessible, celebratory tone compared to the soundtrack's melancholic cuts.
The Music

Yug Bhusal's composition for Friendship keeps a medium-tempo, pop-leaning arrangement built to carry an easy, singable melody rather than the moodier textures elsewhere on the Aseq soundtrack. Himanshu Kohli delivers the vocals himself, having also written the lyrics — giving the track a personal, direct quality suited to its function as a friendship anthem within the film.
The Poetry

Kohli's lyric frames friendship as a bond that endures through every season and circumstance, a straightforward and warm sentiment rather than an elaborately metaphorical one — fitting for a song meant to underline male camaraderie amid a supernatural horror plot rather than carry the film's central romantic or dramatic weight.
The Story

In Aseq, directed by Sarim Momin for Jio Studios, protagonist Ronnie (Vardhan Puri) is haunted by a malevolent jinn after his breakup with Priyanka, and turns to his two closest friends, Sarim (Siddhanth Kapoor) and Aadi (Adi Chugh), to help uncover and confront the supernatural force. Friendship musically underscores this trio's bond, providing a lighter beat within a film otherwise built around dread and the uncanny. The film, shot primarily in London and running about 107 minutes, premiered exclusively on JioCinema on 23 June 2023.
The Legacy

Friendship is the most-viewed of Aseq's three soundtrack songs on YouTube, with its official Junglee Music video drawing well over 200,000 views — a modest but clearly the strongest showing among the film's tracks, likely helped by the song's more universally relatable, celebratory theme compared to the soundtrack's other melancholic cuts.
