'Dhun' is The Royals' (2025) most understated track — a slow indie-folk duet composed and performed by singer-producer pair Aditya N. and Nayantara Bhatkal, with lyrics by Swati Marwal. It serves as the series' emotional respite — a quieter moment between two characters catching breath from the romantic comedy's louder beats. The indie production aesthetic stands apart from the RUUH & JOH-dominated album.

Aditya N. and Nayantara Bhatkal use a simple acoustic guitar and light percussion arrangement that deliberately avoids the electronic production palette of most songs on The Royals album. Their voices blend in an unaffected harmony that feels more like a private recording than a produced television song.

Marwal's lyric is built on the word 'dhun' — a melody, a tune, also an obsession — the beloved becomes the song stuck in one's head. Simple, effective, and appropriately compact for the song's indie register.

Aditya N. and Nayantara Bhatkal are indie artists who came to The Royals project through their work in the Indian independent music scene. Their inclusion reflects the series' deliberate choice to incorporate emerging voices alongside established names.

'Dhun' developed a cult following among Indian indie music listeners who discovered it through The Royals but began playing it as standalone listening, independent of the series.
