O Panchhi is a 1944 Hindi social drama produced by N.I. Studios and directed by Zahur Raja, who also took a lead role opposite Radharani. Like much of the wartime Bombay output, it belonged to the social-melodrama mould of its moment, built around a star ensemble that included Kalyani, Ghory, Durrani, Mumtaz, Moti and Arif. The film is most often remembered today not for its plot, which has largely faded from the record, but for being one of the earliest music assignments of a young V. Balsara before his rise to fame as a multi-instrumentalist and composer.
