Raag Bhogini is a complete scale with all 7 notes in both ascent and descent raga in the Carnatic classical music tradition.. With its Sampurna-Sampurna jati structure, this raag creates a distinctive tonal landscape. As the feminine form, Bhogini may represent a variant of Bhogi's pentatonic scale with slight melodic modifications — perhaps the introduction of one of the parent Kharaharapriya notes (Rishabha or Dhaivata) in the descent, creating a hexatonic variant. If Bhogini is indeed a janya of Kharaharapriya (melakarta #22), its Hindustani thaat equivalent would be Kafi. However, without arohana-avarohana documentation, the parentage cannot be confirmed. The raga is virtually unknown outside specialized Carnatic musical circles and has no film or concert recording history.
