सेनावती कर्नाटक की 72-मेलकर्ता पद्धति का 7वाँ मेलकर्ता है, जो द्वितीय चक्र 'नेत्र' (मेलकर्ता 7–12) का प्रथम राग है। शुद्ध मध्यम खण्ड (मेलकर्ता 1–36) के अन्तर्गत वेंकटमखी ने 1660 ई. में इसका वर्णन किया। नेत्र चक्र के सभी राग अपने निचले तेत्राचोर्ड में कोमल रे और कोमल ग साझा करते हैं। सेनावती में शुद्ध निषाद (N1 / अतिकोमल नि) का अतिरिक्त प्रयोग — हिन्दुस्तानी पद्धति में जिसका कोई समकक्ष नहीं — इसे एक विशेष गहरा, छायादार चरित्र देता है। डॉ. बालमुरलीकृष्ण ने इसमें कृति रची है।

Senavati is the 7th melakarta in the Carnatic 72-melakarta system, the first raag of the second chakra, Netra (melakartas 7–12). It belongs to the shuddha madhyama half (melakartas 1–36). Venkatamakhi described this scale in the Caturdandi Prakasika (1660 CE). The Netra chakra is notable for pairing komal rishabha with komal gandhara in its lower tetrachord across all six melakartas, creating a cluster of tonally dark scales. Senavati adds shuddha nishada (N1 / atikomal Ni) — an extreme lowering with no Hindustani counterpart — giving it a particularly shadowed character. The name is thought to derive from 'senaa' (army/retinue). Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna composed a kriti in Senavati for the Janaka Raga Kriti Manjari.
