Raghav Chaitanya is an Indian playback singer who grew up in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where his father — a practising advocate who had once nursed his own ambitions of becoming a playback singer in Mumbai — introduced him to the music of Kishore Kumar and qawwali. Chaitanya's own tastes ran toward Western rock acts such as AC/DC, Metallica, and Kurt Cobain, and he has cited the late playback singer KK as the strongest influence on his vocal style. He started out playing guitar in a school band, resumed singing seriously in college, and chose to move directly to Mumbai to pursue playback singing rather than compete on television talent shows, initially supporting himself through YouTube cover songs and live performances at weddings and corporate events from around 2015-16.

Chaitanya's Hindi film playback debut came with "Ek Tukda Dhoop" from Thappad (2020), for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer at the 66th Filmfare Awards, making him the youngest singer ever to win the award. He went on to sing "Dil" from Ek Villain Returns (2022), "Tujhse Pyaar Karta Hoon" from Freddy (2022), "Hua Main" from Animal (2023, composed by Pritam), and "Tum Se" from Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), among other film songs, building a reputation for a raw, rock-influenced vocal style within mainstream Bollywood playback singing.
