Javed-Mohsin are the Mumbai-born composer duo of first cousins Javed Khan and Mohsin Shaikh, among the leading Hindi film music teams to emerge in the late 2010s. Javed's father was the tabla player Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, and their maternal grandfather was Ustad Fayyaz Ahmed Khan of the Kirana gharana; Mohsin's father is the writer Mustafa Shaikh. The two grew up steeped in this musical lineage before starting out in 2012 composing music for advertisements, jingles and radio spots.

Their Bollywood debut came in 2015 with the song "DJ Bajega Toh Pappu Nachega" for the Abbas-Mustan comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. They went on to compose for a run of major releases including Munna Michael (2017), Julie 2 (2017), Jalebi (2018) and Drive (2019), and won the Best Music Director award at the IIFA Awards 2022 for their soundtrack to the war biopic Shershaah (2021); they have also received a Grammy nomination. Beyond film scores, the duo produces non-film singles with artists including Darshan Raval, Jubin Nautiyal and Shreya Ghoshal, and continue to release music for labels such as T-Series, Sony Music India, Zee Music and Eros Music into the mid-2020s.
