जयश्री (जन्म नाम: जयश्री कामुलकर; 4 मार्च 1924 – 19 अक्टूबर 2004) मराठी और हिंदी सिनेमा की अभिनेत्री एवं गायिका थीं, जिन्हें 1940 और 1950 के दशक के आरंभ में राजकमल कलामंदिर की प्रमुख नायिका के रूप में याद किया जाता है। एक मध्यमवर्गीय मराठी परिवार में जन्मी और गोवा के कोरगांव गाँव में पली-बढ़ीं जयश्री ने बाल कलाकार के रूप में गुजराती रंगमंच से शुरुआत की और मास्टर कृष्णराव से संगीत की शिक्षा पाई। उनकी आरंभिक मराठी फिल्मों में 'चंद्रराव मोरे' (1939), 'माझी लाडकी' (1939) और प्रभात की क्लासिक 'शेजारी' (1941) शामिल हैं। 1941 में फिल्मकार वी. शांताराम से विवाह के बाद वे उनके नवगठित बैनर राजकमल कलामंदिर का चेहरा बन गईं। इसकी पहली ही फिल्म 'शकुंतला' (1943) में उन्होंने शीर्षक भूमिका निभाई; फिल्म एक वर्ष से अधिक समय तक सिनेमाघरों में चली, और वसंत देसाई के संगीत में उन्हीं की आवाज़ में गाया "जीवन की नाव न डोले" उस वर्ष के सबसे अधिक बिकने वाले रिकॉर्डों में से एक बना। इसके बाद उन्होंने स्वयं शांताराम के साथ 'डॉ. कोटनिस की अमर कहानी' (1946) और फिर 'दहेज' (1950), 'परछाईं' (1952) तथा 'सुबह का तारा' (1954) में अभिनय किया। 1956 में शांताराम से उनका विवाह-विच्छेद हो गया, जिसके बाद उन्होंने स्वतंत्र अभिनेत्री के रूप में काम किया और 'मेहंदी' (1958) जैसी फिल्मों में लौटीं। वे अभिनेत्री राजश्री और मराठी फिल्मकार किरण शांताराम की माँ थीं। 19 अक्टूबर 2004 को मुंबई में जयश्री का निधन हुआ।

Jayashree (born Jayashree Kamulkar; 4 March 1924 – 19 October 2004) was an actress and singer of Marathi and Hindi cinema, best remembered as the leading lady of Rajkamal Kalamandir in the 1940s and early 1950s. Born into a middle-class Marathi family and raised in Korgaon village in Goa, she began performing as a child artiste on the Gujarati stage and received musical training under Master Krishnarao. Her early Marathi films included Chandra Rao More (1939), Mazi Ladki (1939) and the Prabhat classic Shejari (1941).
After marrying filmmaker V. Shantaram in 1941, she became the face of his newly founded banner Rajkamal Kalamandir. Its very first production, Shakuntala (1943), cast her in the title role; the film ran in theatres for over a year, and her own rendering of Vasant Desai's "Jeevan Ki Naav Na Dole" became one of the year's best-selling records. She went on to star in Dr. Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani (1946) opposite Shantaram himself, followed by Dahej (1950), Parchhain (1952) and Subah Ka Tara (1954).
Her marriage to Shantaram ended in divorce in 1956, after which she worked as a freelance actress, returning in films such as Mehndi (1958). She was the mother of actress Rajshree and Marathi filmmaker Kiran Shantaram. Jayashree died in Mumbai on 19 October 2004.
