"Fame Us" opens the Tu Yaa Main (2026) soundtrack with a declaration of intent: a 3:10 trap-influenced hip-hop track by Mumbai collective 7Bantai'Z and producer Rai Harrie, who also serves as the album's primary composer. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and released by Zee Music Company in February 2026, the film's soundtrack is the first in mainstream Bollywood to be built entirely from Mumbai's underground hip-hop ecosystem. 'Fame Us' establishes the world and ambition of Adarsh Gourav's character — the street rapper who goes by 'Aala Flowpara' — in its opening bars.

Rai Harrie's production is rooted in trap music — hi-hats, 808 bass, vocal chops — but he threads in an unmistakably Mumbai street texture through the vocal delivery. 7Bantai'Z's rapid-fire Hinglish flows recall the Dharavi, Antop Hill and Kurla vocabulary that this genre has been cultivating for nearly a decade online before making this Bollywood crossover. The track is deliberately unpolished — a statement that this is not how Bollywood normally sounds.

The lyrics operate in Hinglish code-switching — a linguistic pattern native to Mumbai's multi-lingual, multi-class streets where English words pepper Hindi sentences without self-consciousness. The theme of 'fame' — wanting recognition, demanding a seat at the table — is the founding text of hip-hop globally, here localised to Mumbai's specific hierarchies.

Bejoy Nambiar is known for films (David, 2013; Solo, 2017; Taish, 2020) that use music not as supplementary soundtrack but as structural architecture. Tu Yaa Main continues that approach — the entire film is constructed around Mumbai's hip-hop scene, making the music pre-narrative rather than illustrative.

The film's mixed critical reception ('silly, campy and perversely enjoyable' — Hollywood Reporter India) did not diminish the soundtrack's cultural significance: it marked the first time Mumbai's 7Bantai'Z collective had a major theatrical platform, potentially seeding a new wave of hip-hop film soundtracks.
