Released on 22 January 2025 as the fifth and final pre-release single from Sky Force (Saregama), 'Tu Hain Toh Main Hoon' is the film's romantic soul — a four-minute-eight-second duet by Arijit Singh and Afsana Khan, composed by Tanishk Bagchi and written by Irshad Kamil. Where 'Maaye' addresses grief, this song addresses the terror of possible loss — a young pilot's silent promise to his beloved. Arijit Singh's effortlessly melismatic tenor and Afsana Khan's Punjabi-inflected warmth complement each other with the chemistry of two voices that have lived parallel musical lives. Irshad Kamil's lyrics — spare, direct, Urdu-tinged Hindi — reduce love to its simplest equation: without you, I don't exist.

Tanishk Bagchi builds the arrangement on a gentle guitar arpeggio foundation, letting Arijit Singh's voice enter with characteristic restraint before the strings swell. The song follows a Yaman-adjacent melodic structure — the raised fourth (tivra madhyam) is audible in the chorus, giving the melody its yearning quality. Afsana Khan, who broke through with Punjabi pop, is heard here in a softer register than her usual belt — Tanishk gave her the verses while Arijit takes the chorus and bridge, creating a beautiful emotional asymmetry.

Irshad Kamil, Bollywood's most prolific Urdu-Hindi lyricist of the 2010s-20s, writes with maximum economy — 'tu hain toh main hoon' is a complete philosophy of love in five words. The reversal in each line ('tu hain toh main hoon / tu na ho toh main nahin') creates a parallelism that is ancient in Indian poetry but utterly fresh in execution here.

The song was written for the young pilot T. Krishna Vijaya ('Tabby'), played by Veer Pahariya in his debut, and his wife Geeta (Sara Ali Khan). Director Abhishek Anil Kapur told interviewers that Irshad Kamil wrote the lyric in a single sitting, after spending an afternoon reading letters of 1965-era Indian Air Force officers to their families. The first recording session had Arijit Singh complete all his portions in under two hours — reportedly without a guide track.

The song reinforced Arijit Singh's position as the definitive voice of young Hindi-film love in the 2020s, while marking a career highlight for Afsana Khan in a more restrained, nuanced register than her chart-topping Punjabi numbers. It also confirmed Irshad Kamil's ability to write for war-period settings without resorting to archaic diction.
