'Kookat Koyaliya Kunjan Mein' is the Bhartrahari (1944) song carried by Jehanara Kajjan, one of the prominent female voices of the early sound era, set to Pandit Indra's lyrics and Khemchand Prakash's music. Built on the springtime image of the koel calling among the groves — a stock motif of viraha poetry — the song is noted by film-music writers for its later cultural afterlife, the phrase having resurfaced in much later Hindi cinema.

Khemchand Prakash sets the song to a lilting, spring-coloured melody suited to Jehanara Kajjan's stage-trained, declamatory delivery.
