सोहेल सेन

Sohail Sen is a Hindi film composer and singer who represents the fourth generation of a musical family: his father Sameer Sen was one half of the 1990s music-director duo Dilip Sen–Sameer Sen, and his grandfather Shambhu Sen was a classical singer under whose guidance Sohail began training at the age of six, learning tabla, piano and Hindustani classical music. After assisting his father for several years, he made a quiet solo debut with Sirf (2008), but his career turned when Ashutosh Gowariker chose him for What's Your Raashee? (2009); the sprawling album drew critical praise and put him among the promising young composers of his generation. He went on to score Gowariker's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010) and Yash Raj Films' Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Gunday (2014), earning Filmfare nominations along the way. A capable vocalist, he frequently sings his own compositions — a habit that continues in his 2020s film work, where he appears as both composer and singer on songs such as 'Saiyaan Re Aaja Saiyaan' and 'Beparwah' (2025).
