देवी श्री प्रसाद — प्रशंसकों के 'रॉकस्टार डीएसपी' — दक्षिण भारतीय सिनेमा के सबसे सफल संगीतकारों में से एक हैं। उनका जन्म 2 अगस्त 1979 को आंध्र प्रदेश के वेदुरुपाका गाँव में तेलुगु पटकथा-लेखक जी. सत्यमूर्ति के घर हुआ। उन्नीस वर्ष की उम्र में 'देवी' (1999) से फ़िल्म-संगीत की शुरुआत करने वाले डीएसपी को 'आनंदम' (2001) से पहचान मिली; पिछले पच्चीस वर्षों में उन्होंने सौ से अधिक तेलुगु, तमिल और हिंदी फ़िल्मों में संगीत दिया है और ग्यारह फ़िल्मफ़ेयर अवार्ड्स साउथ जीते हैं। हिंदी दर्शक उनके नाम से पहले उनकी धुनें जानते थे — 'रेडी' (2011) का 'ढिंका चिका' उन्हीं की तेलुगु धुन पर आधारित था — लेकिन 'पुष्पा: द राइज़' (2021) के 'श्रीवल्ली' और 'ऊ अंटावा' के डब संस्करणों ने उत्तर भारत के चार्ट्स पर छाकर उन्हें अखिल भारतीय सितारा बना दिया और सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगीत निर्देशन का राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कार दिलाया। इसके बाद 'पुष्पा 2: द रूल' (2024) का साउंडट्रैक — 'अंगारों', 'किसिक', 'पीलिंग्स' — और 'कंगुवा' (2024) का हिंदी संस्करण आया। ऊर्जावान मंच-कलाकार डीएसपी कई भाषाओं में दर्जनों गीत गा चुके सक्रिय पार्श्व गायक भी हैं।

Devi Sri Prasad — 'Rockstar DSP' to his fans — is one of South Indian cinema's most successful composers. He was born on 2 August 1979 in Vedurupaka, Andhra Pradesh, to Telugu screenwriter G. Satyamurthy. Debuting as a film composer at nineteen with Devi (1999) and breaking through with Anandam (2001), he has in the quarter-century since scored more than a hundred Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films and collected eleven Filmfare Awards South. Hindi audiences knew his tunes before they knew his name — 'Dhinka Chika' in Ready (2011) reworked his own Telugu hit — but it was Pushpa: The Rise (2021), with 'Srivalli' and 'Oo Antava' storming North Indian charts in their dubbed versions, that made DSP a pan-India phenomenon and won him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. He followed it with the chart-dominating soundtrack of Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) — 'Angaaron', 'Kissik', 'Peelings' — and the Hindi version of Kanguva (2024). An energetic stage performer, he is also a prolific playback singer with dozens of songs across multiple languages.
