Peelings (पीलिंग्स) is the Hindi version of the fourth single from the soundtrack of Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) — composed by Devi Sri Prasad, sung in Hindi by Javed Ali and Madhubanti Bagchi, with Hindi lyrics by Raqueeb Alam. The stylised title is a deliberately rustic pronunciation of the English word 'feelings', matching the earthy small-town voice of Allu Arjun's Pushpa Raj, on whom the song is picturized alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli. Released by T-Series as a lyrical song video on 1 December 2024, ahead of the film's 5 December theatrical release, with the full picturized video following in mid-December, Peelings became one of the most-streamed tracks from one of the year's biggest pan-India releases — a mass, beat-forward dance number engineered for maximum floor and reel appeal.

Composed by Devi Sri Prasad — the Telugu music director whose mass-appeal sound anchors the entire Pushpa franchise — Peelings is built on a synth-and-percussion-driven dance chassis engineered for maximum floor impact: a chant-like, endlessly repeatable hook ('Hoti hai feelings') stacked over a heavy, beat-forward groove. For the Hindi version, Javed Ali's seasoned, expressive tenor is paired with Madhubanti Bagchi's bright, agile playback, DSP's arrangement retaining the propulsive rhythm and earworm structure of the Telugu original while the vocal lines are re-cut to sit naturally in Hindi.

Raqueeb Alam's Hindi lyric turns on a single playful conceit: the hero cannot articulate his emotions in polished language, so 'feelings' comes out as 'peelings' — the malapropism itself becoming the hook. The writing leans into repetition and colloquial directness rather than metaphor, chanting the word 'feelings' as a refrain and framing the courtship in blunt, everyman terms ('zara samjho na sanam meri feelings ko' — 'just understand my feelings, my love'). It is the poetics of the mass-hero item number: instantly chantable, built for reels and dance floors, and calibrated to Pushpa's deliberately unrefined, small-town persona.

Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) is the Telugu-language action drama written and directed by Sukumar, produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, and released theatrically on 5 December 2024. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise, it stars Allu Arjun as red-sandalwood smuggler Pushpa Raj, Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil, and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Peelings is one of the film's dance numbers, picturized on Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna. For the pan-India release, T-Series handled the Hindi soundtrack, dropping the Hindi version of Peelings as a lyrical song video on 1 December 2024 — days before the film's opening — with the full picturized video following in mid-December.

As part of one of the biggest pan-India releases of the decade, Peelings rode Pushpa 2's enormous reach: the Hindi soundtrack topped streaming charts in India, and the song peaked at #1 on the Billboard India Songs chart. Though it drew early criticism online over its choreography and lyrics on first release, it gained widespread traction after the film opened, its 'feelings/peelings' hook becoming a reels and short-video staple.
