Brijmala was a singer and actress in Hindi cinema active from the late 1930s through the 1940s. Her screen credits include Daulat (1937) and Chabuk Sawar (1937), and she continued to appear in and lend her voice to films through the following decade, including Sasural (1941), The Return of Toofan Mail (1942), Dukh Sukh (1942), and Gauri (1943).
As a singer, her recorded songs span several major music directors of the era: "Mera Chooran Hain Mastanaa" (a duet with Kantilal) from Diwali (1940) and "Rimjhim Ka Mahina Hai" (a duet with Bhola) from Mumtaz Mahal (1944), both composed by Khemchand Prakash; "Topee Wale Babujee" from Musafir (1940) and "Mera Balam Gaya Hai Bareli Re" from The Return of Toofan Mail (1942), both composed by Gyan Dutt; and three songs from Bhool Na Jana (1947) — including "Dekha Tha Maine Jo Swapna" and "Teri Yaad Hai Meri Zindagi" — composed by Khan Mastana with lyrics by Kidar Sharma.
