बंधू 2.0

Bandhu 2.0 (3:41) is the Cocktail 2 (2026) album's deliberate connection to the 2012 original — a recreated version of one of Cocktail's signature songs, now featuring Kavita Seth and Neeraj Shridhar with Pritam's composition and Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyric. Released on 17 June 2026, two days before the film's premiere, it functions as a tribute to the original film's musical identity while repositioning the 'bandhu' (companion/friend) relationship for the new cast.

Pritam preserves the original Bandhu's architectural warmth while updating the production for 2026 ears. Kavita Seth — whose voice defined the original's emotional register — returns to lend continuity, while Neeraj Shridhar provides a new male counterpoint. The recreation walks the delicate line between nostalgia and renewal.

Amitabh Bhattacharya's 'bandhu' (companion, friend — from Sanskrit) lyric in its original context evoked the unconditional friendship between two women navigating love's complications. The 2.0 version updates this dynamic for the new film's cast without abandoning the word's resonant simplicity.

Released two days before the film premiere, Bandhu 2.0 served as the final pre-release single — a strategic choice that reminded audiences of the original Cocktail while introducing the new cast's relationship to the material.

Bandhu 2.0 ensures the Cocktail franchise maintains musical continuity — Kavita Seth's return as the song's primary voice provides an umbilical connection between the 2012 and 2026 films that audiences who loved the original will feel immediately.
