Synopsisबरसात राज कपूर की दूसरी निर्देशकीय कृति और वह फ़िल्म है जिसने आरके बैनर के संगीत युग को लॉन्च किया। दो समानांतर प्रेम-कहानियाँ — राज (राज कपूर) और रेशमा (नरगिस), गोपाल और कमला (निम्मी) — बारिश से सराबोर कश्मीरी परिदृश्य के सामने खुलती हैं। एक रोमांस बचता है; दूसरा त्रासदी में समाप्त होता है। संगीतमय तमाशे, गीतात्मक रोमांटिकता और भावनात्मक विराम-चिह्न के रूप में गीत के उपयोग के लिए राज कपूर की निर्देशकीय प्रवृत्तियाँ यहाँ पहली बार पूरी तरह से बनी हुई हैं।

Barsaat is Raj Kapoor's second directorial venture and the film that launched the RK banner's musical era. Two parallel love stories — Raj (Raj Kapoor) and Reshma (Nargis), Gopal and Kamla (Nimmi) — play out against a rain-soaked Kashmiri landscape. One romance survives; the other ends in tragedy. Raj Kapoor's directorial instincts for musical spectacle, lyrical romanticism and the use of song as emotional punctuation are fully formed here for the first time.
