अफ़ज़ल लाहौरी

Afzal Lahori was a music director, lyricist and occasional singer active in Bombay cinema through the 1940s, working mostly on the stunt and action pictures of the period. Film-song catalogues credit him with the scores of Khanjarwali (1943) and Stunt King (1944) — the latter yielding songs such as "Jab Pyar Kiya Tha", "Asha Bane Nirasha Pal Me" and "Aye Gham Me Basar Karne Wale", written by lyricist Azm Wazidpuri — followed by Sajani (1947) and Tilasmi Khanjar (1949). On his own Khanjarwali score he also stepped up to the microphone, recording duets with Amirbai Karnataki and Kusum Mantri. Alongside composing, he contributed lyrics to films including Ghar (1945), Samaaj Ko Badal Daalo (1947) and Duniyaadaari (1948). His screen name suggests an association with Lahore, in the era's convention of place-based pen names; beyond his film credits, no reliable biographical details have survived in accessible records.
