Synopsisपंजाब की लोक-त्रासदी: कुम्हार की बेटी सोहनी अपने प्रेमी चरवाहे महिवाल से मिलने हर रात मटके पर बैठकर नदी पार करती थी, जब तक उसकी ईर्ष्यालु ननद ने पके मटके की जगह कच्चा मटका न रख दिया और वह डूब न गई। शारदा मूवीटोन के हर्षद्राई मेहता ने गोहर कर्नाटकी के साथ यह 1933 रूपांतरण निर्देशित किया।

The Punjabi folk tragedy of Sohni and Mahiwal — the potter's daughter who swims the river each night on a water-pot to meet her beloved shepherd, until her jealous sister-in-law replaces the fired pot with an unfired one and she drowns. Sharda Movietone's Harshadrai Mehta directed this 1933 adaptation with Gohar Karnataki as Sohni, one of the most beloved tragic heroines of north Indian folklore.
