'TEYI' is the second pre-release single from Ritviz's forthcoming album Kurta Saree, released June 19, 2026. Where the album's first single 'DHA' (September 2025) built on tabla-and-synth tension, 'TEYI' leans into romantic euphoria — lighter in affect, warmer in colour. The lyrics are co-written by Ritviz and his mother Anvita Bharti, a Hindustani classical singer who has shaped his musical sensibility since childhood. Ritviz — born Ritviz Srivastava, Pune-based — established himself as one of India's most distinctive independent electronic artists with the viral 'Udd Gaye' (2017, 100M+ streams) and has continued building a layered body of work that sits between Hindustani classical grammar and UK garage-influenced production. Kurta Saree frames itself as 'tradition meeting today, sound meeting spectacle.'

Ritviz's production in 'TEYI' demonstrates his ability to make tabla rhythms feel contemporary without diluting their classical grammar. The tabla pattern in the track's foundation is genuinely complex — it does not sit as a decorative element but drives the harmonic rhythm in dialogue with the synthesiser bass. Synth pads provide a wash of warmth under Ritviz's vocal, while vocal samples in the upper register create a celebratory texture that references the Indian wedding ceremony without directly quoting it. The production is dense but not claustrophobic — a careful balance Ritviz has developed across four albums and several years of live performance.

The co-written lyric — Ritviz with his mother Anvita Bharti — creates an unusual intergenerational texture. Ritviz occupies a singular position in Hindi indie music — the bridge between Hindustani classical training and contemporary electronic production that most artists attempt but few execute convincingly.
