The title song of Parbat Pe Apna Dera (1944), sung as a duet by Amirbai Karnataki and Parshuram, lyrics by Dewan Sharar, music by Vasant Desai. Its imagery of a dwelling high on the mountain, set against the darkness of the world below, distils the film's ascetic theme. Long regarded as a rare song from a largely forgotten film, it survives as a record of Vasant Desai's early work for V. Shantaram's Rajkamal Kalamandir.
