जंग ने भारतीय रिकॉर्ड-व्यापार को ग्रामोफ़ोन कंपनी के कलकत्ता-केंद्र के इर्द-गिर्द फिर से जमा दिया, और भरोसेमंद अनुबंधित कलाकार दूने क़ीमती हो गए। 1902 से रिकॉर्ड करते आ रहे पीरा साहब अब भारतीय सूची के सबसे पुराने सितारे थे — स्त्री-पुरुष सब मिलाकर, ख़ुद गौहर जान के बाद।
