Doubtwa (डाउटवा) is the comic fourth track from the Laapataa Ladies (2024) soundtrack — sung by Sukhwinder Singh, composed by Ram Sampath, and written by the film's screenwriter Divyanidhi Sharma. Composer Ram Sampath deliberately builds Doubtwa to open like a 1970s Hindi film song, giving Kiran Rao's otherwise contemporary soundtrack a retro comic detour. Where the album's flagship single Sajni strips arrangement down to a harmonium and a mandolin, Doubtwa goes the opposite way — a playful, up-tempo groove pitched squarely at the character comedy of the scene rather than emotional weight. Sukhwinder Singh, best known for his powerhouse anthems, leans into the novelty register here, delivering the suspicion-laced lyric with a wink rather than his trademark force, so the whole track reads as an affectionate pastiche of the genre's old comic-investigation songs.

The lyric is written by Divyanidhi Sharma — the film's own screenwriter — and it carries the flavour of the dialogue rather than of a conventional song. The very title, 'Doubtwa', bolts the English word 'doubt' onto the rustic Hindi-belt '-wa' suffix, exactly the kind of code-mixing a village policeman would speak, and the hook line 'bahut zyada shady hai, bahut sayaani lady hai' pairs another English loanword ('shady') with plain Hindi accusation. Doubtwa belongs to Laapataa Ladies (2024), Kiran Rao's comedy-drama set in the fictional heartland state of Nirmal Pradesh, in which two veiled brides are accidentally swapped on a train and one goes missing.
