The Monographपरिचय Overview

Dil Jahan Pe Le Chala (Reprise) (दिल जहाँ पे ले चला) is the alternate rendition of Jubilee's recurring romantic theme, composed by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Kausar Munir, released by T-Series as part of the soundtrack of Vikramaditya Motwane's acclaimed 2023 Amazon Prime Video series. Where the primary version of the song was sung by Amit Trivedi himself, this reprise is performed by playback singer Shahid Mallya, giving the same melody and lyric a different vocal texture within the show's musical world, which also starred Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Ram Kapoor, Sidhant Gupta and Wamiqa Gabbi. The T-Series lyrical video credited to the 'Shahid Mallya Version' was uploaded on 10 May 2023, offering fans of the series' widely praised score a second take on one of its recurring emotional threads.
The Music

Amit Trivedi retains the core melodic structure of Dil Jahan Pe Le Chala for this reprise but hands the vocal to Shahid Mallya, whose smoother, more conventionally 'playback' delivery contrasts with the composer's own rawer vocal take on the original version. The arrangement keeps the song's gentle, medium-tempo pacing intact, allowing the reprise to function as a companion piece rather than a radical reinterpretation — a common device in Hindi film and streaming soundtracks where a theme recurs across a story in different emotional registers.
The Poetry

Kausar Munir's lyric centres on total surrender to the heart's direction — 'wherever the heart leads, that is where I went' — a simple, declarative romantic sentiment that works equally well as an assertive solo statement (in this reprise) as it did in its original rendering, reinforcing the song's role as Jubilee's recurring emotional refrain rather than a one-off narrative song.
The Story

Jubilee follows the rise and fall of studio owner Srikant Roy (Prosenjit Chatterjee) and his protégé-turned-rival Binod Das/Madan Kumar (Aparshakti Khurana) against the backdrop of 1940s-50s Bombay cinema, with an ensemble that includes Aditi Rao Hydari, Sidhant Gupta, Ram Kapoor and Wamiqa Gabbi. Created and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane for Prime Video, the ten-episode series premiered in April 2023 to widespread critical acclaim. Reprised or reworked versions of a central theme song across a story's runtime are a recurring device in the show's soundtrack, and this Shahid Mallya-sung version of Dil Jahan Pe Le Chala offers the same emotional thread carried by a different voice at a different point in the narrative.
The Legacy

As a reprise version rather than the show's lead single, Dil Jahan Pe Le Chala (Reprise) has a smaller footprint than Jubilee's more heavily promoted tracks, but it remains part of the wider critical praise Amit Trivedi's score received on the series' April 2023 release. Its existence as a distinct, separately released version alongside the composer's own rendition reflects the depth of the soundtrack's production, with multiple credited takes on its central themes rather than a single definitive cut.
