The lone duet of Ranjit Movietone's Chandni (1942), pairing the singing-star Khursheed with her co-lead Ishwarlal, composed by Khemchand Prakash to lyrics by D.N. Madhok. In an otherwise Khursheed-dominated song list, this lighter call-and-answer piece carries the film's romantic byplay between its two leads.

Khemchand Prakash writes the duet at a buoyant medium tempo, alternating the two voices in a question-and-answer pattern over a brisk tabla-and-harmonium base. Ishwarlal, an actor-singer of the pre-playback generation, takes the male lines himself, and the composer keeps the melody simple and conversational to suit the to-and-fro of the lyric.
