Aavan Jaavan from War 2 (2025, YRF Music) is the album's romantic anchor and its biggest chart hit — featuring Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao over Pritam's production, with Kausar Munir's lyric. The song charted at #16 on Rolling Stone India's Top 25 of 2025, making it one of the year's most-streamed romantic tracks. Set in the context of a YRF spy thriller directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr., the song provides the film's emotional counterweight to its action spectacle.

Pritam's production for Aavan Jaavan is characteristically refined — guitar, strings and a subtle electronic pulse supporting a song designed for longevity. The arrangement gives both Arijit Singh and Shilpa Rao significant space: Arijit anchors the mukhda, Shilpa carries the bridge, and their voices interweave in the final chorus in a manner that Pritam has perfected over two decades of film music.

Kausar Munir — lyricist of classic hits like 'Ishq Wala Love' (Student of the Year), 'London Thumakda' (Queen) — uses the 'aavan jaavan' (coming and going) motif to describe love as an oscillation rather than a fixed state. The Urdu diction is spare but resonant; every word carries weight.

War 2 is Ayan Mukerji's second major directorial project for YRF after the Brahmastra trilogy — a very different creative canvas. The spy-thriller setting required a romantic song that could coexist with action sequences without feeling incongruous. Aavan Jaavan succeeds by being a song about the emotional register of a spy's life — perpetual arrival and departure, the 'aavan jaavan' of a life lived in motion.

Aavan Jaavan consolidates the Pritam–Arijit Singh creative partnership that has defined mainstream Bollywood romantic music for a decade — from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016) through War 2 (2025). Charting in Rolling Stone India's Top 25 of 2025 at #16 confirms its cultural reach beyond the film's core action audience.
