Synopsis1943 की एक हिंदी सामाजिक ड्रामा, मोहन सिन्हा द्वारा निर्देशित, जो एक वकील साहेब के इर्द-गिर्द बुनी गई है और अदालत तथा घर-गृहस्थी से जुड़े नैतिक उलझावों को रेखांकित करती है। त्रिलोक कपूर और माधुरी मुख्य भूमिकाओं में हैं, साथ में शहज़ादी, राजकुमारी शुक्ला और मुमताज़ बेगम — युद्ध-काल की एक मेलोड्रामा जिसका बचा-खुचा अभिलेख मुख्यतः उसके गीतों में सुरक्षित है।

The score was a two-composer collaboration: Pandit Madhukar and Annasaheb Mainkar share credit across most tracks, with a couple of numbers credited to a single hand. Madhuri carries the bulk of the playback, with Khan Mastana voicing the male and duet pieces. The lyrics on at least two songs are attributed to director Mohan Sinha himself.

Vakil Saheb sits in the dense cohort of mid-1940s Bombay social dramas where the film's commercial life and historical memory were carried by its gramophone records far more than by its print. Its music — credited jointly to Pandit Madhukar and Annasaheb Mainkar with Madhuri as the principal playback voice — is the most fully documented part of the production today.
