Swarg Ki Seedhi (1935) — 'Stairway to Heaven' — is a social drama produced by National Movie and directed by A. R. Kardar, who would go on to become one of the most important directors of post-Independence Hindi cinema. The film stars Prithviraj Kapoor — patriarch of the Kapoor dynasty — and Khursheed. Ghulam Haider composed the music, marking another early commission for the future maestro, building on his 1934 work on Thief of Iraq.
