Thaman S (born Ghantasala Sai Srinivas, 16 November 1983) is an Indian composer and playback singer who rose from the rhythm sections of South Indian film music to become one of its most prolific hit-makers. Born in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, into a family steeped in cinema — his grandfather was filmmaker Ghantasala Balaramayya and his father a session drummer on hundreds of films — Thaman began playing drums professionally as a child and spent years as a drummer and rhythm programmer for dozens of leading composers.

He debuted as a music director in 2009 with the Telugu film Kick and the Tamil film Sindhanai Sei, and quickly became a fixture of mass-entertainer cinema with scores for Dookudu (2011), Businessman (2012), Race Gurram (2014), and Sarrainodu (2016). His career peaked with Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), whose chartbusters "Butta Bomma" and "Ramuloo Ramulaa" swept the country and earned him the National Film Award for Best Music Direction.

In Hindi cinema, after scoring the background music for Simmba (2018), he made his full solo debut as composer with Baby John (2024) — including "Bandobast" with Mame Khan — and followed it with the soundtrack of the Sunny Deol actioner Jaat (2025), featuring "Jaat Theme", "Sorry Bol", and "Oh Rama Shri Rama". He frequently sings on his own tracks, bringing a percussive, high-energy stamp to everything he scores.
