जी. दामले 'रामशास्त्री' (1944) के हिंदी संस्करण के संगीत निर्देशक के रूप में दर्ज हैं — प्रभात फ़िल्म कंपनी की यह प्रशंसित फ़िल्म अठारहवीं सदी के अडिग मराठा न्यायाधीश रामशास्त्री प्रभुणे के जीवन पर आधारित थी। जहाँ बेहतर-प्रलेखित मराठी संस्करण का संगीत केशवराव भोळे ने दिया था, वहीं हिंदी संस्करण — जिसके गीत क़मर जलालाबादी ने लिखे — के सभी गीतों पर दामले का नाम था, जिनमें 'तुम जाओ पर दिल में रहोगे', 'तड़प तड़प कर' और 'ओ मेरे भगवान' शामिल हैं; इन्हें मीनाक्षी, बेबी शकुंतला और अनंत मराठे जैसी आवाज़ों ने गाया। उनकी पहचान फ़िल्म इतिहासकारों के लिए आज भी एक पहेली है: अभिलेखों में उनका पूरा नाम नहीं मिलता, और यह भी स्पष्ट नहीं कि वे प्रभात के सह-संस्थापक विष्णुपंत गोविंद दामले के रिश्तेदार थे या नहीं। हिंदी 'रामशास्त्री' के प्रिंट लगभग लुप्त हो जाने के कारण, यही एक क्रेडिट उनके काम की एकमात्र बची निशानी है।

G. Damle is credited as the music director of the Hindi version of Ramshastri (1944), Prabhat Film Company's acclaimed biographical film on the incorruptible 18th-century Maratha judge Ramshastri Prabhune. While the better-documented Marathi version carried a score by Keshavrao Bhole, the Hindi version — with lyrics by Qamar Jalalabadi — bore Damle's name on all its songs, including 'Tum Jaao Par Dil Mein Rahoge', 'Tadap Tadap Kar' and 'O Mere Bhagwan', sung by voices such as Meenakshi, Baby Shakuntala and Anant Marathe. His identity remains a puzzle for film historians: no first name survives in the records, and it is unclear whether he was related to Prabhat's co-founder Vishnupant Govind Damle. With prints of the Hindi Ramshastri largely lost, this single credit is all that remains of his work.
