हँसो हँसो ऐ दुनियावालों (1942) के 'मन की आशा जागी रे' का भाग १, बोल वहीद क़ुरैशी के और संगीत स्वतंत्र संगीतकार के रूप में अपनी शुरुआत कर रहे सी. रामचंद्र का। दो रिकॉर्ड-पक्षों पर जारी यह गीत दिल में नई आशा के जागने का उत्सव मनाता है। 78-आरपीएम युग में आम तौर पर लंबी रचना को दो भागों में बाँटा जाता था ताकि वह हर डिस्क-पक्ष के सीमित समय में समा सके। जीवित सूचियों में कोई पार्श्व गायक प्रलेखित नहीं है।

Part 1 of 'Mann Ki Asha Jagi Re' from Haso Haso Ai Duniyawallaon (1942), with lyrics by Waheed Qureshi and music by C. Ramchandra in his debut as an independent composer. Issued across two record sides, the song celebrates the stirring of fresh hope in the heart. As was common in the 78-rpm era, a longer composition was split into two parts to fit the limited running time of each disc face. No playback singer is documented in the surviving listings.

C. Ramchandra opens the first part in a buoyant, medium-tempo setting on harmonium and tabla, the rising contour of the refrain mirroring the awakening hope of the lyric. Splitting it across two disc sides let the young composer develop the theme at a length unusual for a single 78-rpm record.
