The Asura Theme from Mahavatar Narsimha (Ishtar Music, 2025) is Sam C.S.'s sonic answer to the villain's complexity: at 2:18, it is the album's second-shortest track after Roar of Narsimha, but its orchestral density is the album's heaviest. Where Roar is divine thunder, Asura Theme is earthly dread. Sam C.S. and The Shloka perform a dark invocation to the power of Hiranyakashipu, using low brass, minor harmonics, and a driving percussion pattern recorded by the Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra to create a soundscape that justifies the villain's terrifying reputation in the Puranic texts.

Sam C.S. inverts every musical choice he made for the devotional tracks when composing the Asura Theme. Where those tracks feature female voices and high string registers, this one opens with a bass choir and low brass. Where the mantra-songs are slow and meditative, the Asura Theme drives at speed. The Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra's brass section is pushed to its loudest here, creating a wall of sound that director Ashwin Kumar used to underscore Hiranyakashipu's sequences. The integration of electronic bass underneath the orchestral texture is one of the track's most distinctive modern touches.

The Shloka's text for the Asura Theme is deliberately cryptic — not a praise-song but a dark invocation that hovers between a description of demonic power and a warning. Sanskrit's capacity for portentous compound-noun formations is exploited fully here: each line packs multiple conceptual layers into a compressed word-weight that is effective even for listeners who do not understand Sanskrit, purely through sound.

Sam C.S. has spoken about the challenge of making Hiranyakashipu genuinely frightening in an animated film aimed at family audiences — the music had to be ominous without becoming horror-genre. The Asura Theme's placement at Track 6 (penultimate) creates a specific dramatic arc: the album ends with the Namaste Narsimha Aarti, suggesting that devotion ultimately outlasts even this kind of power.

The Asura Theme stands as one of the most effective villain-theme compositions in recent Indian animated cinema, demonstrating that a fully orchestrated villain motif can compete visually with the best Hollywood animated villain scores.
