Pratima failed commercially — it is one of the two unsuccessful films that stood between Dilip Kumar's unnoticed debut and his 1947 breakthrough — and the picture itself has effectively left circulation. The soundtrack outlived it, and this song outlived the soundtrack: it is the only Pratima title to have attracted any measurable listener response online, carrying hindigeetmala's highest rating for the film from four votes, while its six companions have one or two each.
