The Monographपरिचय Overview

Haazri Lagaye Dil (हाज़री लगाए दिल) is the principal romantic melody of Saroj Ka Rishta (2022), Abhishek Saxena's body-positive romantic comedy starring Sanah Kapur in the title role. Composed by Rahul Jain with lyrics by Sanjeev Chaturvedi, the song is sung by veteran playback legend Sonu Nigam and released by Zee Music Company on 15 August 2022 as the film's lead promotional single, ahead of the movie's 16 September 2022 theatrical release. The music video, picturized on Sanah Kapur, Kumud Mishra, Gaurav Pandey and other cast members, frames the song as the emotional heart of Saroj's story — her lifelong devotion to her childhood crush Vikram — set to a gentle, melody-forward arrangement typical of Rahul Jain's work on the soundtrack. The song was popular enough within the film's small but dedicated release to warrant an official reprise version, sung by composer Rahul Jain himself, released the same week as the album.
The Music

Rahul Jain, who scored the entire Saroj Ka Rishta soundtrack, builds Haazri Lagaye Dil around a melody-forward, mid-tempo arrangement designed to showcase Sonu Nigam's classically trained vocal control rather than dense production. The instrumentation stays understated and film-song-conventional, giving space to Nigam's phrasing across the song's sustained notes, in keeping with the song's function as the picture's emotional theme rather than a chartbuster dance number.
The Poetry

Sanjeev Chaturvedi's lyric frames love as identity-transformation — the beloved's smile becomes the singer's 'jaan' (life) and their romance becomes his 'pehchan' (identity), a classic Hindi-Urdu film-song trope of the self dissolving into the beloved. The title phrase 'haazri lagaye dil' (the heart reports for duty / marks its presence) extends the metaphor of devotion as steady, daily attendance — love as a discipline rather than a fleeting rush.
The Story

Saroj Ka Rishta follows Saroj (Sanah Kapur), a confident, body-positive young woman running a Ghaziabad marriage bureau who has spent years hoping to marry her childhood crush Vikram (Randeep Rai), now settled in Canada. Haazri Lagaye Dil plays as the film's central romantic theme, tracking Saroj's private devotion to Vikram even as the plot complicates matters — a colleague photoshops Saroj's picture to look slimmer before sending it to Vikram, since he has said he wants to marry a slim woman. Directed by Abhishek Saxena and produced by Ambi Abhi Productions, Aena Productions and Kapoor Films, the film released theatrically on 16 September 2022 carrying a body-image message, with this song serving as its emotional through-line.
The Legacy

As a small-scale film release, Haazri Lagaye Dil did not chart nationally, but it holds a notable distinction within its own soundtrack: it is the only song from Saroj Ka Rishta to receive an official reprise version, sung by composer Rahul Jain himself and released the same week as the film's soundtrack album (2 September 2022) — a mark of the song's importance to the project's musical identity even within a modest theatrical release.
