One of the three surviving songs of Arzoo (1942), 'Dil Hai Khayale' is the film's principal female solo, sung by Bina Chowdhury under Subal Dasgupta's composition and set to Khwaja Kidwai's Urdu lyric. It represents the lighter, melody-forward side of the film's small score, balancing the contemplative male ghazals voiced by Jagmohan Sursagar.
