The Monographपरिचय Overview

Aag Udi (Victory Anthem) is the closing track of the seven-song Tejas (2023) soundtrack album, composed, written and co-sung by Shashwat Sachdev alongside vocalist Sanjith Hegde. Released by Zee Music Company on 6 January 2024 as part of the film's full audio jukebox rollout (following the film's 27 October 2023 theatrical release), it is a compact, roughly two-minute instrumental-forward anthem designed to cap the album on a triumphant, patriotic note rather than function as a standalone promotional single. Tejas itself — an action-thriller starring Kangana Ranaut as a fighter pilot on a high-risk rescue mission — underperformed commercially and drew mixed-to-negative reviews, and its soundtrack, including this anthem, did not achieve significant independent chart or streaming traction outside the film's own release cycle.
The Music

Shashwat Sachdev, who scored the entire Tejas album, keeps Aag Udi compact and driving — a short, brass-and-percussion-forward cue rather than a full-length song structure, reflecting its role as an album-closing anthem rather than a lead single. He shares vocal duties with Sanjith Hegde, pairing his own composer's voice with Hegde's more seasoned playback delivery, a combination that gives the track an urgent, almost background-score-like intensity consistent with the film's military-action setting.
The Poetry

Built around its English-language subtitle 'Victory Anthem,' the song's Hindi lyric leans on stock patriotic-anthem vocabulary — imagery of rising fire and triumph — to deliver a short, declarative burst of resolve rather than a narrative lyric, fitting its function as a closing cue rather than a scene-driven song.
The Story

Tejas (2023), written and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, follows Indian Air Force officer Tejas Gill (Kangana Ranaut), who — still processing the loss of her parents and boyfriend in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks — undertakes a high-risk mission to rescue an Indian spy held hostage across the border. Released theatrically on 27 October 2023, the film became one of the year's most-discussed box-office disasters, with many opening-day screenings cancelled for lack of audience turnout, against a reported budget of ₹70 crore. Aag Udi, as the soundtrack's closing anthem, was clearly positioned to punctuate the film's climactic rescue/victory beat, though the film's poor theatrical run limited the song's own visibility.
The Legacy

Unlike many of its 2023 patriotic-anthem contemporaries, Aag Udi did not chart independently or generate significant standalone streaming numbers — its reach has remained tied closely to Tejas's own limited theatrical footprint and modest home-viewing afterlife, making it a minor entry in Shashwat Sachdev's broader scoring career rather than a breakout track.

Composer Shashwat Sachdev also sings on the track, alongside playback vocalist Sanjith Hegde — a dual composer-singer credit fairly uncommon for a mainstream Hindi film anthem.
