कथा-सार
Synopsis'सीता स्वयंवर' रामायण के उस प्रसंग को चित्रित करता है जिसमें मिथिला के राजा जनक की पुत्री सीता का स्वयंवर आयोजित होता है। शर्त: सुयोग्य वर शिव के महाधनुष (पिनाक) को उठाए। जब सभी राजकुमार और राजा विफल हो जाते हैं, अयोध्या के राजकुमार राम न केवल उठाते हैं बल्कि धनुष तोड़ते हैं और सीता का वरण होता है। एच. एम. रेड्डी — जिन्होंने पहली तेलुगु टॉकी भी बनाई — के निर्देशन में विजया सिनेटोन की यह फ़िल्म रिलीज़ हुई। मास्टर मोहम्मद ने संगीत निर्देशक और राम दोनों भूमिकाएँ निभाईं।

Sita Swayamvar depicts the Ramayana episode of Sita's swayamvar — the royal ceremony where Princess Sita, daughter of King Janaka of Mithila, chooses her husband from assembled princes and kings. The condition: the suitor must wield Shiva's great bow (Pinaka). After all aspirants fail, Prince Rama of Ayodhya not only lifts but breaks the bow, winning Sita's hand. Directed by H. M. Reddy — the pioneering Telugu cinema director who also made the first Telugu talkie — the film was produced by Vijaya Cinetone. Notably, Master Mohammed served as both music director and played Rama, an early example of multi-role creative participation common in small studios.
