A teenage Kashmiri boy named Kabir (Ibrahim Ali Khan) is sent to a military boarding school in Dehradun by his father after being caught vandalising a government bus. At the school — run by Colonel Smita Shergill (Kajol, in a rare antagonist turn) — Kabir's defiance meets its match. As he confronts authority, the film explores the generational wounds of separatism, displaced identity, and what it means to belong to a land (sarzameen) that does not feel like home. The film was produced by Dharma Productions and premiered on JioHotstar on 11 April 2025.

The Sarzameen (2025) soundtrack is a richly layered eight-track album that fuses Punjabi folk tradition with Sufi devotional music, Kashmir's musical identity, and contemporary pop. B Praak dominates the album — singing four of the eight tracks — while Sachet Tandon, Asees Kaur, Gurnam Bhullar, and Kapil Sibal provide additional voices. The watan (homeland) theme unifies the album: every song is, at some level, about belonging and loss of belonging. 'Ve Mahiya' is the standout track.
