Masrat Un Nissa is a Kashmiri singer whose voice carried the soundtrack of Songs of Paradise (2025), Danish Renzu's musical drama inspired by the life of Padma Shri Raj Begum, the 'Nightingale of Kashmir'. Discovered singing at the age of five, she followed a path strikingly similar to Raj Begum's own, and was chosen as the film's lead singing voice. For the soundtrack she performed classic Kashmiri songs re-composed by santoor maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori — among them 'Vesiye Gulan', 'Dil Tsooran', 'Kya Kya Wanai' and 'Rum Gayam Sheeshus' — arrangements that kept the traditional flavour of santoor, rabab and daf. The songs travelled far beyond the Valley on streaming and social media, winning her listeners who do not understand Kashmiri, and the film opened professional doors for her in Mumbai. She is signed to Renzu Music, the label run by director Danish Renzu that works with emerging Kashmiri artists.
