जवानी ज़िंदगानी शादमानी है

A song from Nagma-e-Sahra (1945), lyrics by Ehsan Rizvi, music by C. Ramchandra. No singer is documented for it in the HFGK-derived catalogues, on hindigeetmala or on myswar, and none is invented here. The title is a rhyme-chain of three Persian-derived abstractions — jawani (youth), zindagani (life), shadmani (gladness) — which places it firmly among the film's celebratory numbers rather than its laments.

The record has not been located and the arrangement cannot be described. Only the register is inferable, and only from the words.

The three nouns are a formal set. Jawani and zindagani are near-twins in sound and are routinely paired in Urdu verse; shadmani, gladness or festivity, completes the -ani rhyme and turns the pair into a proposition — that youth and life amount to joy. It is the standard rhetoric of the film celebration song, and Ehsan Rizvi writes it cleanly, with the assertion carried entirely by the rhyme rather than by any image. Nothing further can be said about the lyric without the record.

The film was directed by Bhagwan Dada for his Jagriti Pictures banner and premiered in Bombay on 22 December 1945, one of the low-budget stunt and action pictures he made for the working-class circuit between 1938 and 1949. Baburao Patel, reviewing it in filmindia the following March, granted the producers 'the enthusiasm and the spirit' while calling the result 'a very modest presentation' — a fair description of the class of film in which a celebratory youth song of this kind was standard equipment.

The song survives as a title and a pair of credits. It has not been reissued, no singer has ever been attached to it in print, and no audio has surfaced. Listing it without a voice is the accurate record.
