इरशाद कामिल (जन्म 5 सितंबर 1971) एक भारतीय गीतकार और कवि हैं, जो 2000 के दशक के मध्य से हिंदी सिनेमा के अग्रणी गीतकारों में गिने जाते हैं। पंजाब के मलेरकोटला में एक पंजाबी मुस्लिम परिवार में जन्मे कामिल ने पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय से पत्रकारिता की पढ़ाई की और आगे चलकर हिंदी साहित्य में स्नातकोत्तर व पीएच.डी. की उपाधि प्राप्त की; फ़िल्मों से पहले उन्होंने द ट्रिब्यून और इंडियन एक्सप्रेस जैसे समाचार-पत्रों में पत्रकार के रूप में और फिर टेलीविज़न के लिए लेखन किया। कामिल के हिंदी फ़िल्म करियर की शुरुआत चमेली (2004) से हुई और जब वी मेट (2007) तथा लव आज कल (2010) के गीतों से यह तेज़ी से आगे बढ़ा, इसके बाद संगीतकार ए.आर. रहमान के साथ रॉकस्टार (2011) में उनका निर्णायक सहयोग हुआ। इसके बाद उन्होंने आशिकी 2, हाईवे, तमाशा, रांझणा, लैला मजनूं, जब हैरी मेट सेजल, कबीर सिंह और डंकी जैसी फ़िल्मों के लिए गीत लिखे, और अक्सर संगीतकार प्रीतम व ए.आर. रहमान के साथ काम किया। उन्होंने सर्वश्रेष्ठ गीतकार के लिए कई फ़िल्मफ़ेयर पुरस्कार जीते हैं — जिनमें लव आज कल (2010) के गीत 'अज्ज दिन चढ़या' के लिए मिला पुरस्कार शामिल है — और 2019 में उर्दू शायरी व गीत-लेखन हेतु कैफ़ी आज़मी पुरस्कार प्राप्त किया।

Irshad Kamil (born 5 September 1971) is an Indian lyricist and poet who has been one of Hindi cinema's leading songwriters since the mid-2000s. Born in Malerkotla, Punjab, into a Punjabi Muslim family, he studied journalism at Panjab University and went on to complete postgraduate and doctoral studies in Hindi literature, working as a journalist with newspapers including The Tribune and the Indian Express before moving into television writing.
Kamil's Hindi film career began with Chameli (2004) and grew rapidly through songs for Jab We Met (2007) and Love Aaj Kal (2010), followed by his breakthrough collaboration with composer A.R. Rahman on Rockstar (2011). He has since written lyrics for films including Aashiqui 2, Highway, Tamasha, Raanjhanaa, Laila Majnu, Jab Harry Met Sejal, Kabir Singh, and Dunki, frequently partnering with composers Pritam and A.R. Rahman.
He has won multiple Filmfare Awards for Best Lyricist — including for 'Ajj Din Chadeya' from Love Aaj Kal (2010) — and received the Kaifi Azmi Award for Urdu poetry and lyric-writing in 2019.
