Rahe Na Kyun (रहे ना क्यों) is the male-vocal rendition of the emotional centerpiece song from Tarla (2023), the biographical drama about India's pioneering television chef and cookbook author Tarla Dalal, starring Huma Qureshi in the title role opposite Sharib Hashmi. Composer-singer Suhit Abhyankar, who scored the film alongside Nilotpal Bora and Rohan Vinayak, both wrote the tune and lent his own voice to this version, with lyrics by Manoj Yadav. Released digitally by Zee Music Company on 1 July 2023 ahead of the film's ZEE5 premiere, the track was conceived as a ghazal-inflected, intimate piece — a companion to the female version sung by veteran ghazal-pop vocalist Rekha Bhardwaj that was released as the film's promoted single with an accompanying situational video. Suhit Abhyankar, credited alongside Nilotpal Bora and Rohan Vinayak for Tarla's score, chose to sing this male version of Rahe Na Kyun himself rather than hand it to a dedicated playback singer — an unusual but not unheard-of choice for a composer working on an intimate, largely ghazal-rooted soundtrack. The arrangement leans on Arshad Khan's israaj, Shomu Seal's guitar work, and Amey Thakurdesai's tabla, giving the track a stripped-back, classically-tinged texture that mirrors the female version's mood while carrying its own restrained, lower-register delivery.

Manoj Yadav's lyric, built around the repeated title phrase 'rahe na kyun' (why shouldn't it remain/why can't it stay), sits in the classic idiom of Urdu-inflected film poetry — expressing a wish for a feeling or bond to endure, framed as a quiet, rhetorical question rather than a direct declaration. Sung from a male perspective here, the same words carry a more resigned, internalised register compared to the openly emotional female rendition.

Tarla, directed by Piyush Gupta and produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies with Earthsky, dramatizes the life of Tarla Dalal (played by Huma Qureshi), the homemaker who became one of India's best-selling cookbook authors and a pioneering face of Indian television cookery, with Sharib Hashmi playing her supportive husband Nalin Dalal. The film premiered on ZEE5 on 7 July 2023. Rahe Na Kyun, in its two vocal versions, was used to underscore a key emotional passage in the couple's relationship, with the male version giving Nalin's side of the same sentiment its own musical voice.

While the female version sung by Rekha Bhardwaj received the primary promotional push — including a dedicated Zee Music Company video and coverage of actor Sharib Hashmi recording his own take on the song — the male version by Suhit Abhyankar circulated mainly as an audio release across streaming platforms including Amazon Music, JioSaavn, and Spotify, functioning as the soundtrack's quieter, composer-voiced counterpart within the modest overall footprint of Tarla's music, a biopic score that prioritised mood over chart ambitions.
