रघुपति राघव राजाराम (भाग 2)

'Raghupati Raghav Rajaram (Version 2)' is the second recorded rendering, on the Jadui Kismat (1944) soundtrack, of the celebrated Ram-and-Rahim bhajan whose mukhda is attributed to Lakshmanacharya and which Mahatma Gandhi popularised nationally. As with the first version, the A. M. Khan film credits the music to Behram Irani and Damodar Sharma and the film lyrics to Ehsan Rizvi. Recording two versions of a single devotional number was a documented studio practice for songs of particular dramatic or emotional weight. No individual playback singer is documented in the surviving listings.

The second version keeps the same congregational framework set by Behram Irani and Damodar Sharma — harmonium, tabla and manjira around the familiar mukhda — likely differing from the first in voicing, length or staging within the picture. The steady chant-tempo and devotional palette are unchanged.
