Credited to Sunder by hindigeetmala and myswar alike, and present in hindigeetmala's singer index for him. The title is a vocative: it does not describe a situation, it calls out to a person defined entirely by the fact that they are sulking. No lyric text survives in any source consulted and none is reproduced here.

Undocumented; no recording of the title has been traced. G. A. Chishti is the composer of record, and the vocal is an actor's rather than a professional singer's, which in 1945 practice generally meant a melody written to sit comfortably within an untrained range.

Roothna — to take offence and withdraw — has no clean English equivalent, and neither does its answer, manaana, the work of coaxing the offended party back. Hindi film song leans on the pair constantly because it gives a quarrel a guaranteed shape: one party turns away, the other must sing them round, and the song is the labour of persuasion itself. Calling the beloved 'o roothne wale' — o you who sulk — makes the sulking a settled habit rather than a single incident, which is affectionate and exasperated at once.

One of six Zid songs sung by a member of its own cast. The film, H. S. Rawail's second, was produced in Calcutta by Shree Bharatlaxmi Pictures and classified as a Social in Wikipedia's list of the year's Hindi releases; it did no business and was followed by a three-year gap before Rawail's next film.

No reissue, no anthology appearance, no located recording. The title survives because two databases transcribed a disc label, which for most of the 1945 catalogue is the whole of what survives.
