'Maze Loot Le' is the celebratory number of the nine songs Roopbani wrote and Damodar Sharma set for Alladin (1945). The imperative title — seize the pleasures, plunder the joys — is the standard signature of the revelry song, the point in a costume fantasy where a feast, a court entertainment or a wine scene interrupts the plot. No singer is credited for it in any surviving catalogue, and its picturisation is undocumented.

The recording is not accessible and cannot be characterised. What the genre required of such a number is on record: revelry songs in 1940s fantasy films were built on a fast dholak or tabla cycle, a chorus answering the lead line, and a melody kept deliberately simple so that a group of dancers could be shot moving to it — the least ambitious and most functional music in any such score, and consequently the most likely to be picturised at length.

'Lootna' — to plunder — is a deliberately violent verb to attach to pleasure, and Urdu-Hindi lyric uses it precisely for that friction: joy is not to be received but taken, and taken now, because the taking has a deadline. The phrase belongs to a long carpe diem strain running from the Persian ghazal through Hindustani film song, in which the injunction to enjoy is always shadowed by the reason for the hurry. In a fantasy plot the shadow is usually literal — a spell about to break, a night about to end, a fortune about to reverse — but with the film's text lost the specific occasion behind Roopbani's imperative cannot be recovered.

Alladin was released in 1945 by Mohan Pictures of Bombay with Nanubhai Vakil directing. Its ensemble cast — Prakash, Shanta Patel, N. A. Ansari, Rafiq, Nawaz, Rekha Pawar, Syed Garib Shah, Ghulam Husain, Babubhai, Shapur, Bashir, Billimoria and others — is the size that costume fantasies needed for their court and crowd sequences. Not one of them is matched to a character name in the surviving records.

No reception history exists for this song. It was not, on the evidence of the surviving discographies, issued commercially under a named artist, and it appears in no anthology of the period. The entry preserves what is verifiable: the title, the composer, the lyricist, the film — and an explicit acknowledgement that the rest is missing.
