A Devi stuti from the Amrapali (1945) soundtrack, and the most striking title in the film's eleven-song list. Every word of it is a Sanskrit epithet: khadagdhari, bearer of the sword; vijaykarni, giver of victory; mahashakti mata, the Great Power as Mother. Saraswati Devi composed it and Kavi Pradeep is the film's credited lyricist; the singer is not recorded in the catalogues consulted.

No recording is available to describe. A stuti of this kind is conventionally set in a firm, march-adjacent rhythm with a declamatory melodic line — the words are long compounds and need space to land — and would in 1945 have been scored for harmonium, dholak and, in a costume picture, likely a chorus. Nothing beyond the composer credit is documented.

The epithets belong to the martial Devi of the Durga Saptashati rather than to any gentler mother-goddess, and it is worth noting who wrote them: Kavi Pradeep, whose 'Door Hato Ae Duniyawalon' in Kismet (1943) had brought a British arrest warrant on his head two years earlier. Nationalist writing of the period habitually reached for exactly this vocabulary — mother, power, victory, the sword — and a 1945 audience would have heard the doubling. The song's placement inside a Buddhist renunciation story is, however, undocumented, and no reading of its scene is offered here.

Amrapali (1945) was directed by Nandlal Jaswantlal for Murli Movietone and drew on the legend of Amrapali of Vaishali, the celebrated nagarvadhu of the Licchavi republic who, in the traditional account, renounced her position and gave her mango grove and fortune to the Buddha's order. Sabita Devi, Prem Adib, Jeevan, Arun, Jagdish Sethi, Badri Prasad, Gulab and Sankatha Prasad are the documented cast. Saraswati Devi composed eleven songs for the picture to lyrics by Kavi Pradeep — one of the few soundtracks she wrote after leaving Bombay Talkies.

No reception history is documented. What the title records is that a 1945 costume picture about a Buddhist renunciant also carried a martial Shakti invocation written by the most prominent nationalist lyricist then working in Hindi film — a juxtaposition that is itself the interesting fact.
