The Monographपरिचय Overview

'Hindu Muslim Sikh Isayi' is a documented song of the 1944 Lahore film Bhai, sung by Zeenat Begum to a Ghulam Haider composition and a Shatir Ghaznavi lyric. Built on the title film's brotherhood theme, it is a communal-harmony number whose message — that the faiths of India are kin — carries unusual weight given that it was made in Lahore on the eve of Partition. It survives on gramophone record and is listed across the film's principal discographies.
The Music

Ghulam Haider scores the brotherhood call in a stirring, mid-tempo march mode — dholak and tabla driving a steady, marchable pulse under Zeenat Begum's lead, with the title refrain built to be taken up as a chorus. The writing favours a memorable, sing-along melodic phrase over ornament, in the public-address idiom the era used for its message songs.
