The Monographपरिचय Overview

Dilon Ki Doriyan (दिलों की डोरियां) is a romantic duet from Bawaal (2023), Nitesh Tiwari's Amazon Prime Video drama starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. Composed by Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics by Arafat Mehmood, the track brought together singers Vishal Mishra, Zahrah S Khan, and Romy and was released by T-Series on 18 July 2023, the third and final single from the soundtrack before the film's 21 July streaming premiere. Built around imagery of finding an entire river when expecting only a single drop, the song offered the soundtrack's most conventionally uplifting romantic register, following the melancholic Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte and the tender Dil Se Dil Tak.
The Music

Tanishk Bagchi, one of Hindi cinema's most prolific contemporary composers, gives Dilon Ki Doriyan a melodic, mid-tempo pop-romantic arrangement built for three distinct voices — Vishal Mishra, Zahrah S Khan, and Romy — trading and blending lines across the track, giving it a fuller, more layered vocal texture than a typical solo or duet ballad.
The Poetry

Arafat Mehmood's lyric leans on a classic Urdu-Hindi poetic contrast — 'qatra' (a single drop) versus 'dariya' (an entire river) — to express the overwhelming, unexpected scale of love found. The 'kinara' (shore) imagery in the opening lines reinforces a recurring water-and-anchoring metaphor that runs through the verse, giving the song's romantic sentiment a classic, ghazal-adjacent poetic texture.
The Story

Bawaal centres on Ajay Dixit (Varun Dhawan), a self-obsessed Lucknow history teacher, and his wife Nisha (Janhvi Kapoor), who lives with epilepsy, as a European trip retracing World War II sites forces a reckoning in their marriage. As the third and final pre-release single, Dilon Ki Doriyan closed out the soundtrack's rollout with its most straightforwardly celebratory romantic beat, released just three days before the film's 21 July 2023 premiere.
The Legacy

As the closing single from Bawaal's three-song soundtrack rollout, Dilon Ki Doriyan's official T-Series video drew several million YouTube views, positioning it as a modest but steady performer within a soundtrack whose lead single (Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte) and second single (Dil Se Dil Tak) drew significantly larger numbers — consistent with its role as the album's more understated, closing romantic note.
